I’ve volunteered to perform at the Toronto Protest in support Robert Dziekanski at Queen’s Park and have been asked to play around 1:00pm tomorrow. Check out the website and the Facebook group for more information, or see the CBC story on YouTube (part 1, part 2).
It’s really terrible what happened… my great grandfather immigrated to Canada from a small town in Poland and a few summers ago I had the opportunity to visit the town where he came from. It would have been such a culture shock and extremely frightening to be stranded in a airport without any English, and it’s such a shame that this whole thing couldn’t have been prevented by a little kindness and understanding… nevermind a little less force….
